I bought 2 Tokyo subway apps for my trip to Japan, and this is the one I use all the time.
Its good because you can input which station you are at and tell it what station you want to go to, and it will tell you exactly how to get there.
One thing I missed, however (and the London Tube app has it - great app for London, btw) is station-by-station listing of steps in your route. This app tells you where to make switches, but it is hard to follow along what stations you should be passing (theres a map, but a list would be much easier to see and follow). This is a needed feature because it helps you to be sure you a) get on the subway going the right way, and b) know that youre going the right way as you pass stations and c) know how soon youre going to have to get off.
Another great addition would be the ability to view station names in Japanese characters. If you still need help, the Romanized Japanese cannot be read by most Japanese, so they cannot help you.
But overall, this is a lifesaver. Very good!
